What should we pay attention to when operating a closed cooling tower in winter?
Sep 07, 2024
The closed cooling tower originates from the evaporative cooler, but is actually a heat exchanger that combines the performance of the water-cooled cooler and the conventional cooling tower. It is also a heat exchanger between the water cooler and the air cooler.
Precautions for winter operation:
In order to prevent the freezing of the heat exchange tubes and spray water of the closed cooling tower, please pay attention to the following points:
1. To prevent the freezing of the circulating water, please add antifreeze to the circulating water or add an auxiliary antifreeze electric heater to the piping.
2. When the circulating water pump is running, the antifreeze electric heater heats the water and the water will not freeze. If there is an occasion where the circulating water pump stops, an auxiliary circulating water pump is required. Here we recommend the use of a complete set of antifreeze (including auxiliary circulating water pump, antifreeze electric heater, piping).
3. It is recommended to release the water in the heat exchange tube and water pan when the equipment is not in use in winter.
4. To prevent the freezing of the spray water pump and piping, please use an antifreeze electric heater to maintain the temperature of the lower water tank.
