The fully automatic water softener (fully automatic sodium ion exchanger) for cooling towers independently developed by our company is mainly dominated by fully automatic control valves. Except for the need for manual regular salt replenishment, the other procedures of this design are all automated. The configuration methods include single tank, double tank, and multi-tank combination. The control methods are divided into time type and flow type control (domestic manual and semi-automatic control devices can also be selected according to user needs). The unit water output ranges from 0.5 tons/hour to 500 tons/hour.
The hardness of water is mainly composed of cations: calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) ions. When the raw water containing hardness passes through the resin layer of the exchanger, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are adsorbed by the resin, and sodium ions are released at the same time. In this way, the water flowing out of the exchanger is softened water with hardness ions removed. When the resin adsorbs calcium and magnesium ions to a certain extent, the hardness of the outlet water increases. At this time, the water softener automatically regenerates the failed resin according to a predetermined program, and uses a higher concentration of sodium chloride solution to pass through the resin to restore the failed resin to a sodium type resin.
The microcomputer processor controls the equipment to automatically supply water, backwash, absorb salt, regenerate, and wash, and can realize unmanned management. It can automatically regenerate at a fixed time and flow rate to ensure the production of high-quality softened water. The integrated soft water exchange tank and control valve save installation space and further improve operational reliability.
