There Are Several Supporting Structures For FRP Cooling Towers

The support structure of FRP cooling tower is generally divided into two types: concrete frame and steel frame.
1. Features of FRP cooling tower concrete frame support structure: long service life, stable structure, low overall vibration value; its structure often appears in towers with a circulating water volume of more than 2000m³/h. If the special water quality corrodes the concrete, the overall frame of the cooling tower can be treated with anti-corrosion.
2. Features of FRP cooling tower steel frame support structure: the service life can reach more than 10 years, and its structural vibration value is higher than that of the concrete structure, but different anti-corrosion processes can be used according to the actual water quality, generally hot-dip galvanizing anti-corrosion, FRP lining anti-corrosion, epoxy coal tar paint anti-corrosion; under the same tower shape, this structure is more expensive than the concrete structure cooling tower (because the construction and supply of concrete are generally the responsibility of the owner), but the overall cost is much lower than the concrete structure, so the cooling tower steel frame support is also more popular with users than the concrete frame structure.
Another type of cooling tower support structure is the FRP support structure. The overall support of the cooling tower is made of FRP pultruded profiles, which are mainly used in circulating water of special media. However, its structure is very rare, and its structural stability is poor and the construction cost is high. Therefore, our company does not recommend this structure cooling tower.
